This blueberry apple smoothie is one of our favorite smoothie recipes. It’s so easy to make and packed with nutrients.
You can use store bought dried blueberries, but I prefer to use homemade dehydrated blueberries and turn them into powder form. There’s just something about the flavor of fresh blueberries that can’t be beat.
I add in some dehydrated apple to give it a nice texture and a hint of cinnamon to warm it up.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon powdered dehydrated blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen apple
- 1/2 apple, cored
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Instructions
- Add the powdered dehydrated blueberries, diced apple, almond milk, chia seeds and banana (if using) to a blender.
- Blend on high speed to combine. You may need to stop the blender and scrape down the sides a time or two.
- Add the banana (if using) and blend until smooth.
- Add the Greek yogurt (if using) and blend to combine.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if needed.
- Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
Variations
- Use homemade dehydrated powdered blueberries or buy them. Either way, they are delicious and nutritious!
- Add a splash of apple juice for extra flavor and moisture.
- Use a tart apple like Granny Smith.
